Given a genuine survival scenario with no access to electricity,so no freezers or fridges.

How would you preserve game meat,Rabbit, pigeon, pheasant etc. given that a one moment you may have access to a glut and later nothing?

Also is there a similar way of preserving fish and shell fish?

Thanks

The only ways would be to smoke or salt it as are ancestors would have done.

Keep it alive until you need it. Just don't give it a name.....

I've also had quite a lot of success drying / smoking meat on a grill, well over cooking height above the main campfire. Very tasty actually.
