Possibly going to France soon - what's the best opinel to get? Any alternatives?

I may (or may not) get a pass-out to spend a few days in France visiting a friend.

Any recommendations on the best opinel to get please?

Are there any decent alternatives to Opinel knives which are easily found? Any advice much appreciated.

any opinel is fine!
you can get also any traditionnal knife,huge range of them,favourite brand of mine:"le parapluie à l'épreuve".
quite a name i recognise,also go for an other brand :"le sabot"
and the brass ones: "coursolle". you'd go for a douk-douk wich is a razor,but handle hurts while working a lot with it!

They do some nice No 8's in stainless with laser engraved olive wood handles that are rather nice.
