Portable electric sewing machine

Hi,

I'm looking for recommendations for small portable electric sewing machines for the wife. She does quilting and general sewing work, and wants a small electric machine to take to her fortnightly group. She doesn't want to lug a full size machine around (and she has arthritic hands so would struggle if she tried) so she is after one of those miniature machines instead. Not after anything with elaborate capabilities, but must be mains powered rather than battery.

There are lots on the bay of course, but she is reluctant to buy from there on the basis of inflated prices for machines of unknown provenance. I have therefore been asked to make enquiries amongst the sewing savvy amongst the membership here.

So, can anyone recommend a small sewing machine, or better still, does anyone have one that they might be willing to part with?

Singer used to make a small a machine, 211 or 212 i think, basically a small lightweight 201

My mum used to use her Elna Lotus for that type of stuff.
