I am off abroad working and I want a compact camera for under £200 that has good quality.

For everyday and travel use you could do worse than the Olympus mju Tough series. Waterproof, drop (3feet) proof, some operate at silly cold temperatures too.

The lumix TZ10 is amazing for the money IMO.
