Hi all,
I went to make a wet moulded pouch today, so I cut my piece of leather and saturated it. I then laid it on the bottom piece of my mould then I put the top over it. I noticed the leather had been scratched on the mould and it looked like the top layer was peeling:/ so I took the leather off and on closer inspection it looked like there was a layer of plastic like film on the leather, it was already scratched up so I decided to peel it all off and just use the price of leather.
So I'm wondering if it's a cheap grade leather with some film over the top to disguise this. I'm really not sure. Ive wet moulded tons of stuff from the same roll of leather Like knife sheaths and the like before and never had a problem. So if anyone knows what's going on it would be great to know!
