I just purchased an Aristo pedometer off of eBay. It was made in GB and I am wondering about how old it may be.

One clue is the recommendation to adjust the stride screw with a 1/2p coin.

When did you stop using 1/2p coins?

It is also labeled "Made in Great Britian" not the UK if that is an additional clue.

Neat mechanical device that just caught my eye. I had a el-cheapo pedometer as a kid and have other better ones now, but this one I really like.

1/2p havent seen one of those for years - shame is never said a shilling or 2 bob! :rolmao:

I knew the 1/2p was no longer circulated and that would at least give some clue to the age, but I did not expect to narrow it down so closely.

The directions also talk about "jogging" which seems a 70-80's term (at least over here). The device has a mid to late 70's feel to me.

Thanks once again.
