Paramo Losing The Plot?

Perhaps it's just my desire for clothing given of hues and design sympathetic to the outdoors but I still can't help feeling the folks at Paramo are actively pursuing a design policy that is the antithesis of what floats most Bushcrafters canoes.

For me their biggest crime was dropping the Mountain Vent Pull-On range but for some this will run second to noting none of their new Autumn range is offered in anything approaching an Autumn colour!

I'm sure the truth is their market research indicates they should focus on the likes of hill walkers and those into the more energy sapping outdoor pursuits but that's not going to stop me having a good moan!

Ding!! and that I agree is the answer. On the list of outdoor pursuits where profit is to be made by suppliers, Bushcraft is not the golden boy it once was, I think.

Paramo quality is still good and on the hills and moors ' be seen be safe' scores far higher points with the rich punters than being able to hide unseen in the bushes while eating Squirrels...

Haven't tried the Aspira or the Mountain Vent but the Velez Adventure is fantastic.

Doesn't matter much to me as they never seem to do proper grown up sizes, only kids and racing snakes need apply !

Agree, sizing is plain weird!! The only way I can fit my short medium sized body into anything Paramo is to buy large and then I can wear a pair of stilts with the trousers

I like the Halcon traveller jacket. It is cut for the more triangular bodied of us however...and it is on a 3 for 2 offer on their website...why the hell would you want three of them

...and in fairness, if you select 'nature watching' on their website as your chosen activity, the page does turn several shades of green and brown...apart from the bright purple lycra leggings right in the middle of the page (perhaps if you were nature watching in a field of lavender or foxgloves it may work!!!).

Used to have a Mountain Equipment Ogre Jacket which at the time was one of the best Goretex jackets you could buy. Trouble I found is that it didn't let sweat out fast enough and I had as much water on the inside of the jacket as the outside, got very cold that day. Switched to Paramo and I've been out in all conditions and if when damp on the inside I've stayed toasty and dried out quickly.

I make a lot of my own kit, but I admit I like my old north face shirts, my buffalo and pertex, and lowe alpine stuff too.
Paramo used to be reliable, comfortable, and decently discrete in colour….can't say that now though

Kit's kit, wear what you like…..and that includes silk thermals and home made wax jackets army surplus or rohan.
It's up to yourself, iimmc.

Perhaps in the eternal rat race between leading outdoor clothing manufacturers, where they are all using very similar materials, claiming similar performance and charging similar prices, there's little left to gain pole position. So apart from dropping the price below that of the opposition, which may result in the beheading of the sales executive who suggests it, the only option for getting noticed is to use 'eye catching' colours...

....Look at me brolly, waterproof, windproof,ergonomic handle too...very 2017, you know you need one...

I'm one, even had a pair, quite derigour back in the 80's in the North Wales slate quarry's
Some of us used to go to ballet shops and get the most outrageous coloured tights we could, got some looks as we were not the normal clientele! Then the climbing companies started selling them, trend setters we were

Going back to the colour issues, I remember reading a few years back that people were up in arms about folks in bright colourful clothing ruining the aesthetics of the countryside, it now seems to be the norm.
