An over night trip in the bavarian woods.
We slept at a nice place roughly 700 m.a.s.l, it was pretty chilly at that height :).

We started in a Windows 95 landscape:

Along a "forest highway":

Short brake where we compared our backpacks, mine is the middle one. Less is more, what do you think? :)

Through dark alleys and nice landscapes:

Off the beaten path traversing snow remainings:

Finally reaching our place for the night:

It was a great first night in the hammock for this year :).

Nice pics, thanks for posting, I enjoyed those.

That is a nice part of the world and yes, less is definitely more. :)

Were you as warm through the night as the other two?

That looks like a great wee trip, and some awesome photo's too! Thanks for sharing.

I'm interested in how much kit you took? Have you got a list? What kind of size is that bag?

Looks like a fun trip. Lovely part of the world too. What are the access laws like?

Yeah, it was a fun trip indeed.

German law states that everybody has access to any forest regardless of it being state or private property.
You can roam freely even aside paths in all areas that are not under some kind of protection (nature reserves and such).

When it comes to sleeping in the forests thing become more tricky. Camping (i.e. erecting a tent) is strictly forbidden, but with tarps, hammocks and bivouacs in general things are not clearly defined and you're pretty much in a legal limbo.

Also open fires are strictly prohibited. Actually even smoking in the woods is forbidden, but it very much depends on the actual place how severe all this is enforced.

Very nice, thanks for posting it.
Big or little pack?, whatever you are most comfortable with. Some people, like to carry more than they need. If that gives them the comfort, or confidence to go further, and stay longer, i get that.
Would you of taken more if you was alone? first aid, tools, compass and so on.
With me, it depends where im going, how long, who im with. I often take things to practice with.
I do like your kit list though, and often (when local, and weather permits) take similar.
