In the Mountains
I went out yesterday for an overnight hike into the mountains close to me. The snow has now began to thaw enough to free up a lot of the paths.
My plan was to get up to about 2000 meters then camp out and enjoy the sun set, Unfortunately for me I made the mistake of planning my route on the north facing side of the mountain I wanted to go up which has not received so much direct sunlight .
When I got to about 1600 meters I started to encounter quite deep snow which I could not pass in my shorts and 3 season boots, so I decided to head back down the way I came to the valley and hike along the river and put my hammock up there for the night .
Not what I was hoping for but still a nice night out .
I thought I would share some photos :)

In the Mountains
Hi

I was somewhere on the German ,Austria border in the Alps. South of the German town of Füssen but North of the Austrian town of Reutte .
This area can get quite busy in the summer but at the moment there are not to many people hiking around there

Great place and pictures. Slight concern for your sanity as I'm sure you were wearing shorts.

The weather is warm mate , the snow is just taking its time to go :) Some of the areas would have been covered in over 2 metres this winter. The winter here is quite long and spring is only really fully underway now
