With a longer bow a nice technique is to put a strong strap around one ankle, slip your arm twixt bow and string, then pull the bow over your shoulder. So for a right hander, you'd be pulling the bow with your right hand over right shoulder, moving the string with left hand.

If anything goes wrong, it flies back away from you.

Sorry I know nothing about bows! but I have to comment! however i know when something looks stunningly asthetic, cracking job you`ve doen there dan, I`d love one of those.
