hi all av been moding few of mine for a bit .but a got one the otherday off leafman .and a tryed moding it this morning even thoe i have lost half of my thumb has anybody got any photoes of thair work .al try and get mine up later

i currently have a stack of these in front of me, all broken in some way (usually the tip of the blade snapped off), all belonging to other people, and all needing mending. i shall go and have a look for the camera so i can show you how i get on

hears my latest custom opinel have no picturs of my others .......the handel is deer anler with brass bolster .......lets see some of yor attems ..........

Try modding the handle like this guy does :rolleyes::)



For those that don't read French here are some of the woods he used.;

Photos starting from the top;

eagle- carved from the original beech handle.
boxer - " from olive wood.
croco - " " " "
rhino - " " " "
ape - " from original handle
caiman ( croco ) - carved from sweet chesnut.
finger - olive wood
dog - " "
king kong - walnut.

eagle head - walnut.

Jeez Gypsy slings, that is incredible, what a transformation !........fantastic work there, I didn't realise that a humble Opinel could look so grand.........well worth loosing half a thumb for :D

Gypsy Slings your Opinel rehandle looks fantastic. How easy was the antler to work? How did you attach the bolster?
Looks like you did a lovely job, and without some of your thumb too!
