Hi I`m Gerry from Swansea I have been into camping for about 26 years mostly tenting then I went to the dark side and bought a VW camper ,The first one I had was a T25 back in 2001 then in 2011 I upgraded to a T4 lwb and then last July moved up to a LT35 mwb camper .The reason we went to campers was I was having back problems then found out in 2005 I had broken L4 and L5 vertebrates.
Then in 2009 I had two cages put in and bolts and fushions ,then in 2011 I found out C5/C6 disc was damaged I then had a further two operations on C5/C6 and another operation on L4 so I know have 3 cages 16 bolts 6 fushions and a plate in my spine.
I was forced to give up working in 2010 and I am now medically retired but when my health is ok we try and get away in the camper but my plan in now to do wild camping if I can find sites that will let my bring in the camper but apart from sleeping in it the wife and I want to go back to basics ,As money is short you will probably see a few wanted items in the for sale section and loads of newbie advice sought ,other interest`s are photography and music (I collect lp`s )
the reason why we love camping is the basics of getting back to nature and this also helps me with my depression but on the bright site I am not in a wheelchair as there was a fair risk due to the operations so I take one day at a time.

Hi I`m Gerry from swansea used to to a lot of hiking and walking ,But due to me breaking my back in three places I can no longer camp in a tent .I have a camper van and was wondering if any of your camp outs have vehicle access so I can sleep in the van but do everything else out side and I would also like to relearn map reading .I just want to get off the main grid and camp in the country side and get back to mother nature way of life and get out of the rat race .Walking any distance causes me pain best I can manage is a couple of hundred yards is my maximum distance as soon as i take a step I am in pain.Any help would really be appreciated . Regards Gerry

Hi Gerry, welcome aboard. Sounds like you need to get up to Scotland :) plenty of places to park the van up.
