Old US Scout knife curiosity

We stayed with some friends in the U.S.A last summer.
I took my Alox Pioneer, of course (I might have taken other items with me, I might have bought some items, I can neither confirm nor deny this, haha)

I found this old Scout knife on the side, in the house we stayed in and I was really struck by the similarities!
It belongs to my friend's Dad.
I would guess the U.S scout knife to be from the 60's?
I thought others might like to see it?

If a design ain't broke huh?

There's something very faint in the pic of the knife by itself. Immerol? Perhaps Ingersoll?

Only looking on my phone so can't zoom in enough.... Imperial possibly? Unusual to have the scout logo carved in the bone scales...looks great.

It's an Imperial BSA scout knife probably from around the 60's-70's

plastic scales, steel bolders, carbon blades - I remeber the days when these or at least the 'Richards' brand knives were in every corner shop

Almost every knife maker over here made these. I had one made by the toolmaker, Craftsman (I dearly wish I still had that knife). Most didn’t have the Scout logo as they had to pay the BSA for license to use it. Over the decades (from the 1930s onward) BSA licensed different companies to produce the “official” knife with the logo and market it as such. Likewise this was the policy for putting the Scout logo on any products: backpacks, hatchets, axes, mess kits, etc (I also had a yucca pack, a Plumb hatchet, and a Plumb boy’s axe with the logo and I also dearly wish I still had them all-I do stil have the hatchet) In fact it’s still the way they license all those products today. The older products from the 1970s and before are quite collectible.
