Anyone know the best place to pick up some old scaffolding ?

I want to knock up a new rack for my canoe and scaff bar seems to the easiest way forward.

Roughly 1000mm wide, 2000mm long and not to bothered about the height as long as it gets the boat off the ground.

Just phone up any scaff firm and ask em if they've got any old kit for sale, if i was closer I'd drop you a bit off.

Call yourself a bushcrafter? I know where there is some lovely thick hazel that could do with coming down, and you could make a proper frame that wouldn't rust or mark your canoe. I can give you a pointer if you need it, but keep it under your hat as it is quite a good stand yet is totally overlooked and I want it to pretty much remain that way! I'd certainly take you in and show you where it is though and even help you lug it out!

Thanks for the tips and offers folks

I'll pass on the hazel Phil even though it could be a nice little project I think I'd prefer to recycle some old kit if poss.

I'll ring round some local firms in the morning and see what I can get for my money.

The sectional mesh fencing that is used on building sites, has i think 40mm galvanised poles, these are quite often discarded, and can be readily had from sites.
