(I am training to use the SUP in all conditions so I can do longer (bushcraft) expeditions)

As you want to go further why dont you ditch the surf board and buy a boat? You could carry more kit/food/ and chocolate too.

I have a boat. This is much lighter weight and the movement is extremely satisfying since you are using your whole body.

You are also much higher up so you can see into the water much better.

It's like windsurfing as opposed to sailing. You have a far more direct engagement with the water and wind.

Much less hassle when portaging also, and you need hardly any water in the channel to be able to maneuver...

It's a brilliant lightweight expeditioning tool. So smooth and slinky and you are using your whole body... just an awesome movement...
