I decided a while back I wanted some new clothes for my Mora 711 (the 711 being an often overlooked ) because the handle was starting to look tatty as it was my main working knife.
So I went for Oak... Floor board. :D

While the blade was free I gound the spine flat because like most carbon moras, the 711's is rough and unfinished which I found produces inconsistent sparks from a firesteel.

The handle is treated with danish oil and polished with bees wax.
The end result:

No soooner had the wax been applied, it was back out cutting brambles. :D

Cheers,
Leon

Thanks chaps. :)

Originally I was going to fit an elm handle I made - a really nice piece with the grain matching the contours (it was a different design) of the handle perfectly, but when I ran my finger nail over it, it left an indentation. Ive seen some stunning knive handles made from old oak furniture so thought I'd give it a go.

The pillar drill was at its slowest speed doing the holes so it took a while.
