Just thought I would post this out of interest, inspired with tim to get back onto my pizza oven project, i remembered some of the research I did, this was a secondry option one the oven is finished!!

A tandoori oven, looks allot simpler than the oven and would be quick to knock up and dispose of it it didnt work out to well!!!

Hehe well I am hoping my pizza oven will double as a makeshift tandoor as well! But it did cross my mind :)

I remember making one of these with my dad in an Indian restaurant he was refurbishing in Reading back in the late 70's, mostly I remember filling a big space around the actual oven with pea shingle/stones.

A friend of mine built one a few years back with a big clay plant pot. We were using it a couple of weeks back.

Looks awesome! I'm hoping to do mine on the floor of the pizza oven or potentially on the sides when I get the damn sand off!
