New pertex DIY Hammock

It really needs to be peretx 4,5 or 6 if you are going single layer. Some of the stuff I have had from ebay has had to soft a drape and loads of stretch to be used for load bearing.

Ah. Not sure if it is or not. It was an eBay purchase though. Either way, I fancy having a bash at an under quilt too, so if it's no good for a hammock I'm sure I'll be able to use it. Is there a reliable UK supplier of Pertex 4, 5 or 6?

You'll be able to tell by the feel. If it has a really soft feel than it won't be up to the job. Pertex 4 + feels more robust.

Cheers. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I've had a look on the web and found a company called Point North. They offer Pertex 4 and 5, but the choice of colours is a little off putting. I'll give them a go if my eBay batch turns out to be a let down.
