I thought I'd give this a try.

3.5m of olive green pertex 4. Hemmed on two longer sides and a channel on each of the two shorter ends.

6mm Dyneema is currently being used but I have some 5mm on its way.

Cord was thread through each end cord and cinched up nice and tight, looped around and a square knot tied up nice and tight.

A short length of the same cord was attached to the hammock with a larks foot below 1st bit of cord.

Will it hold?

Although the wall posts of the new house are a little low, therefore the hammock is suspended much lower than I would normally have it.

It holds nicely!

It is super light weight. Just going out to take it down and weigh it.

Good work, I like it. :)
Great timing too, Ive just started on the exact same olive pertex hammock. I was wondering how much a single layer of pertex will stretch, but your post has answered my question.

I'm gonna make it a little shorter at 3.1 metres. The next job is a double layer with bug net.

Had a few Q's via PM.

The material is pertex 4 and is a single layer.
3.5m long and approx 145cm wide.
Gutterman thread. Normal stitch pattern. "2" on my thread injector.
Rope/cord is polyester covered D12 Dyneema, 6mm.
I'm 15st and 6ft 2".

Was the pertex4 from the bay? I got some from the bay and some from fabrics n stuff, the latter pertex is lighter, softer and more packable.

Great project. I'm going to have to have a go. Did you use Gutermann Sew-All, or something a little heavier?
