I've put handles on quite a few of Brisa's best over the years, and very well received they've been as well! I thought that it must be time to do the job properly, that is, a piece of 01, a few bits of brass, some wood and some glue.

But, how to go about it?

I've now decided that this forum, together with the guys over on BB, should be reclassified as a centre of learning excellence!

Where to get tool steel? No problem, the guys on BB pointed me in the right direction!
What sort of shape should I aim for? Spend a while reading this forum and pretty soon you'll get an idea of what works!
What's heat treatment? How about tempering? What's a one brick kiln? Maybe a neck sheath? All these questions and more were answered by spending some time on here and at BB.

So, the end result?

Apologies for the rubbish picture.

Overall length: 150mm, 2mm 01 tool steel, 6mm brass pins, 6mm brass lanyard, Yew grips, 3mm leather neck sheath. The Mora will give an idea of size.

So, as a first effort, how is it?
