Hello,

I didn't post too much, but here I am...!

In the past few days, I've made a new small knife using a piece of an old two-man saw, cedar handle (from a very old door) and I cant avoid the more minimal rust.

I will post photos to show how easy it rust.

Aside from putting some oil in the blade, do you have any other trick to prevent this ??

Thanks,

Marcelo from Buenos Aires

If you do not mind a darker (not bright and shiny) blade you can acid etch it. I use tea bags, used coffee grounds even a potato. I have heard of people using prepared mustard for the same effect. Just cover the blade and let it sit for a couple of days maybe longer/ The blade will turn grayish. It is the method used on this blade made from a putty knife

I think so, and I was so happy about it...

I apply some vinegar onto the blade, but the finish wasn't homogeneous.

I will clean the blade with some steel wool and alcohol before apply it, but will do it tomorrow. Now its too late :)
