Following on from our recent discussions on running tools from portable power stations, I thought this review might interest those who like the idea. It's a new offering from Aferiy (a brand I really like as a good blend of price & performance)

Things I really like about it are

1) Expandable storage
2) Dual DC charging (meaning you can run solar and high power vehicle charging simultaneously)
3) High current 12V output meaning things like lights can be easily run in a camper or tent without powering an inverter
4) Powerful app on both bluetooth (in a van or camping) or WiFi (home use)
5) Up to date 140W USBC charging

I do like the look of that - good power levels and a sensible price - 6Kwh for a little over £2K is tempting.

Are you sure about being able to charge from 2 DC sources at once? AC + Solar is in the spec but not DC + solar, unless I missed it.

Worked fine when I tested it! Not sure of the internal spec but I suspect twin charge controllers. Both XT90 sockets allow up to 55V & maximum 600W (each) & don't have to match. A 12V input & 38V input worked well.

Now I can't do that on the P210 or P310 because they have a single input socket (albeit a 2000W socket on the P310), but with dual inputs it's a different story

High voltage line work? I think that's the reason behind our outage
I shouldn't moan too much as it's one of the low voltage poles that only feeds our house! There's quite a few and a couple more have been condemned so we expect a few more outages. They're normally very quick so we should cope easily

Might need to sort one of these battery things out as they need to replace all the line cables at some point.
