Quite a while ago now I asked dave if he'd be able to knock up an axe head based on a design of one I'd glimpsed in one of the ray mears program's. Several months later this arrived at my door.

Now, as dave predicted it has taken a little while for me to figure out the best way to use it and secure it to a handle. I've had it a couple of months now and have incorporated it into my kit, i tend to take it rather than the axe unless I'm processing a lot of wood in which case it stays at home and I take the GB. Great bit of kit, thanks dave.

Very cool and certainly different!

Is there a perminant way to fix it to a handle? Or is it an on the day sort of tool?

It's a fantastic bit of kit, now I've figured it out putting a handle on takes no time. What's great about it is how versatile it is and how easy it is to use in the hand without a handle. I've used it as a splitting wedge and in the hand for feather sticks amongst other things, brilliant
