The Leatherworking Handbook by Valerie Michael;
The Art of Hand Sewing Leather by Al Stohlman;
the threads on here & British Blades on leatherworking;
The Art of Making Leather Cases (also Stohlman) is supposed to be very good, but I don't have a copy yet;
there are several on braiding, if that floats your boat...
I'll go with The Art of Hand Sewing Leather by Al Stohlman that's got all you need to get started in it and more
I have to agree with Pete The Art The Art of Making Leather Cases by Stohlman is great i believe there are three volumes i have volume volume 1 and have looked at the other two but I think I would only buy volume three as there wasn't anything that would interest me in volume two.
I'm a beginner, so I just went down to my local library and borrowed "Leatherwork - A manual of techniques" by Geoffrey West. I wouldn't bother with the projects in the book, (wallett, handbag, etc.) but it covered the basics pretty well. In fact I now have a longing to do some thonging.
