Need a chainsaw?

I like the idea of an angle grinder to chainsaw converstion, but that is not a good way of doing it!

The lack of oil aside, there is no shielding from the chain coming off in every direction and there is no way of tensioning the chain (the damn thing is hanging off in the vid!).

Incase there are any stupid people watching that, please don't try it at home! On second thoughts, go ahead and try it, we don't want you in the gene pool anyway! :D

I've worked with chainsaws alot and as soon as you become complacent with them they give a little reminder to pay attention.

Very clever - I do like McGyver types. Of course it isn't "optimal" but the essence of redneck engineering is "doing what you can with what you've got". I bet his family will be warmer than others next winter

I suspect the guy can't afford to drop the kind of money a new saw (or even an old saw) costs. So he makes do. We probably shouldn't judge him by UK standards - and its results that count :)
