Name the chod

Found this on top of a 5 foot high monolith near Tarland in Aberdeenshire.

Size wise, its about the size of the end of my index finger. Studded with tiny gravel and evidence of fibres running through it.

Not an owl pellet is it?

The fact that it looked like it was made of grit and grass made me wonder whether it was something other than an owl
