My trangia finally failed me.

Got my trangia for my 16th birthday, that was 18 years ago and it has worked well and have been very impressed with it and used it lots.

Was away camping the last few days and was ,making a brew with the kettle and noticed water beading on the bottom of the kettle. At first I thought I had filled it to full and it was running out of the spout then I thought it was the sea mist condensing on the kettle. It soon dawned on me it was neither of these, the kettle had sprung a leak :yikes:

RIP kettle you lasted me well.

Now to go and price up a new kettle :(

Find the leak and try doing a tin repair on it.

It's the least you can do for a loyal servant before you send it off to trangia heaven

For a moment there I thought you meant the stove had failed! "Impossible" I thought and I'm glad to be proven right.

Sorry to hear about your kettle and I hope you manage to repair it, the trangia sets are a fantastic bushy bit of kit :)

Basically you solder some tin over the leak to seal it.

It has to be 100% pure tin solder to ensure it's food safe. If you can't find any drop me a PM and I'll put some in the post to you :)
