My New knife

This is what the post man brought me today.
It is a ben Orford woodlander 3.5 (slightly smaller blade than the standard woodlander). It has reindeer scales and red linners. I am very very very happy with it.

Very nice looks "natural"* too!

*To clarify, some of the micarta scales and some of the darker stained woods can look a little artificial and plasticy to me. Nowt wrong with it, just my personal taste

Thats a very pretty thing! short blades add that much more power to cutting, well they do with my chef's knifes anyways!

Not seen a tapered tang before, i assume that adds to the foward balance of the knife?

Goes some way to balance the heavy antler handles.

JonathanD is right the tappered tang gives good balance to heavey scales like antler.
I am looking forward to making something with it this weekend
