It's a Cornelius Whitehouse, 1940 military issue (has the broad arrow). Heavy old lump & the spine needed a great deal of filing to remove the ridge where somebody had been clobbering with it. The edge looks as if it's been used for making gravel but after a lot of filing & sharpening, the bits in between the dents are pretty keen. Handle feels solid despite having a crack in it
Was supposed to be for the missus but it's so heavy I might keep it for myself
It'll be used for coppicing willow and chopping kindling. Not bad for a 76 year old tool
