It's a Cornelius Whitehouse, 1940 military issue (has the broad arrow). Heavy old lump & the spine needed a great deal of filing to remove the ridge where somebody had been clobbering with it. The edge looks as if it's been used for making gravel but after a lot of filing & sharpening, the bits in between the dents are pretty keen. Handle feels solid despite having a crack in it

Was supposed to be for the missus but it's so heavy I might keep it for myself :)
It'll be used for coppicing willow and chopping kindling. Not bad for a 76 year old tool

'twas just a joke, as the tool was 76 yrs. old and was being called 66............but I see that's been spotted already!!!

Most of my jokes seem to fall flat....................MMMMMmmmmmmmmmm, time to think about this! :rolleyes:
