It's a right of passage. Made from cherry. Needs fine sanding and oiling.

I guess the spoon knife makes all the difference for carving the bowl. My spoons have all been hacked out with a chisel gouge.

Your spoon looks very useable, gonna do some more?

Inbox cleared. I've used a gouge on other projects and actually prefer it to a spoon knife. But i wanted to use it for this spoon - the whittler knife did a lot of the tidying up.

Thanks, need some oil on it. The grain looks very promising. I naively thought it was going to be easy - i know better now! Fortunately the cherry was lovely to carve. However next time i think i will rough the bowl out first, then shape the spoon.
