i didnt have to cut the tang luckily it all fit easy enough, i had planned to cut a bit off it but i didnt need to.

Thanks Stinger, as you said you wanted to make the handle thinner. That is exactly what i have designed, but I think the handle becomes smaller to be in proportion with the blade. That is my problem with the tang it is now to big for my handle design.

It os OK to cut the tang by quite a bit I have made knives from blades with tangs just over 50 mm (when forged)made by top smiths.
