My Dave Budd 'British' knife

Lovely looking knife all round! As a complete numpty when it comes to this sort of thing, I can't work out how you cut out the slot for the tang to fit into so that you get a tight fit, especially when the hand-forged tang is not perfectly symmetrical.

Somebody please enlighten me?

Hi, for the antler bolster it was a few small drill holes then file it to shape. Lots of slide it on a bit, note where it's snug and file some more, etc, etc, etc. Dave's blade tang does taper enough to get a good fit all the way up. But as you glue it and push it all together some epoxy pushes through the slight gaps so fills these.
As for the wood it's just drill a series of holes and elongate them. The fit here is not as critical as the epoxy will fill the gaps.
Hope that helps :)
