Spent this afternoon with my two daughters and SWMBO exploring Chobham Common.

Before we started I explained the dangers of Funghi to both my daughters, then we were off, they are naturals, I think they spotted every piece of funghi on our two and a half hour walk.

I'm a mere amateur where funghi is concerened, my Collins mini guide was well thumbed,in fact it soon became a battle to get it back off my daughters. They both now want a copy for Christmas.

My 6 year old, Amber, wants now to do an overnighter with Daddy :D

Kids are great at spotting things like fungi, their eyes are so much quicker than most adults, and they're closer to the ground too. :) They can also prove to be valuable asset in the gathering dept, saving you from all that tedious bending down to pick things up mularky :)

Seriously though, it's great to know that your kids are interested enough to WANT to explore the outdoors. Hope all goes well for that overnighter!
