More Fungus- This may be unusual.

My partner has sent me some shots of some fugus. They are growing on the side of tamarisk trees on the island of Lesvos, Greece. The trees are growing on a sea front in quite a saline envronment. I think the two specimens may be the same species at differing parts of thier development cycle. Hope someone can come up with an ID

Possibly a maze gill type looking at the pores under the bracket ? The top looks a bit like phellinus though.

Either way, most bracket fungi have a trauma layer for making tinder, for use with sparks so useful stuff.

Scroll down through this and highlight the bit which starts "http://farm6.static.flickr.com/" and ends ".jpg" then do CTRL+C to copy to your clipboard. Click back to the window in BCUK and click the the "Insert image" button which opens a little box. Just do CTRL+V to paste in the code you copied from flickr. Job done. No idea what the fungus is...
