Thought I would share this with you, it is a mora blade but is a little different from the green plastic handled version!

I was inspired by the knife Wayland was using at a recent meet, and thought I would have a crack at something along the same lines.

I used the "how to" in the skills section, I am not totally happy with it but hey its a start!

I intend to have a go at some scrimshaw work around the antler sections of the knife

Pignut,

that is lovely work well done. I'd rather have that than a plastic mora anyday.
What wood have you used on the handle and sheath? Can You post some more pictures of the back of the sheath as I rather like that style.

Cheers

Thats a really nice combination of wood and leather.
I always wanted to do a sheat like this ever since I have seen it in one of Bergmanns books.
BTW, Pignut, I collect pics of scandi belt loops here:

One like yours I havent seen yet and would like to include in this thread.
Thats ok?
I also still dont understand how the leather tongs are fixed in the sheat and whats the purpose of the piece of leather connecting them?

That's quite nice.

Is that glue on the blade?
If so here's a tip :

Wrap it in tape( also better for safety reasons). The use vaseline to cover the blade near the bolster.
That way glue won't stick.

I dont know how to get shot of the revolting plastic handle, but the knife has only a half length stick tang so you could put mosaic pins through the butt end of a new handle no problem.
