I was trying to find out what knife i actually have, funnily enough i have had it for months but don't know what model it is.

I bought it from here http://www.greenmanbushcraft.co.uk/...osts-woodcarving-knife-and-leather-sheath.htm this site simply calls it the Mora woodcarving knife

However this site http://www.lakelandbushcraft.co.uk/acatalog/Mora_Knives.html calls it the Mora 137

and this site calls it the classic no 1 http://www.moonrakerknives.co.uk/frostsmora.htm except the handle and sheath are red but otherwise looks exactly the same.

Could anyone tell me is it a Mora woodcarving knife, 137 or a classic No1?

Thanks

And I think it's a 137.

The 137 has the pale tan colour leather sheath, but the Classic No 1 had a vulcanised fibre red sheath.

You can use both of them as woodcarving knives.

Bottom line - if it works for you, it's good.

Cheers

It's a 137 (woodcarving was the original purpose).

Had a few (Ragweed). Great little knife with a natural look and feel (leather sheath, wooden grip)

N01 is a bit bigger (and usually red handled). NO 1 does NOT fit in the leather sheath of a 137.....

Different steel btw then the n01.

Tang wise... full length stick were my 137. The n0 1 (or 2) I have now is only 75% length, still strong enough for the jobs...

This is my favouite knife.... well the blade anyway it takes an awesome edge on water stones. I'm not too taken on the handle though, I used to think it was good but now I have rust problems around the boulster. So I'm about to start a project to rehandle it in the Puukko style. btw I would call it full tang as the tang goes the entire length of the handle. As far as I am aware the tang being the same profile as the handle would have no affect on this terminology.
