Anyone ever had Moleskin trousers from Hoggs of Fife ? look good in the reviews and reasonable price, just wondering if anyone has user experience ?

I've had and have some. Comfy, and pretty hard wearing. Not as good a brand as they used to be, I've heard some say. For heavyweight moleskins, I swear by my 'Tussock Creek ' branded ones from NewZealand.

Hogs 'Monarch' moleskines are the best out there imho.
Their fabric came out top in an abrasion wear test iirc.
The brand may not be what it was but its moleskines are.

Best.

i've worn moleskin trousers for years but the place i usually get them from has increased it's prices something shocking recently and Hoggs looked a good cheaper alternative.

I wear them and have had no problems except me making holes in the pockets, probably stuffing too much stuff in them, they are very comfy to wear also.

I've worn Hoggs for donkey's years and love 'em........got lucky last year and scored 2 pairs of R M Williams m'skins in a charry, they're well over £100 and people rave about them - they're a little better cut than the Hoggs, but I wouldn't choose them at anywhere near the full price, the Hoggs are just as good.

The only problem I've had with them is when they get wet - but that's cotton for you..............atb mac

The Hoggs turned up today ( ordered Saturday ) and they are super trousers, i like the weight of the Moleskin material and the cut, for me to get trousers off the shelf that fit is a rarity, and these do :) so very impressed with the garment and the speed of delivery.

If anyone is Umming and Arring........i would recommend them ( no connection etc )

I've Had Hoggs Moleskin Trousers and Jeans from been 17 years old that's 40 years, I find them as good today as they ever were, you can wash and wear them to death, they don't shrink in the wash and they keep there colour. You can get some from countryoutlet.co.uk at a really good price.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned but moleskin, to me, says 'the skin of a mole' ( and I accept that you'd need a hell of a load of moles to make a pair of trousers):lmao:
Still, described on the above site as "Made from our exclusive 100% Cotton “Monarch”, I guess the mystery is solved! and no moles were harmed in the production of these trousers..
I'd better check that my leather jacket isn't described as " made with our exclusive 100% recycled plastic" !!
:o
