On the way back from my bimbles today, I saw this little fella by the side of the trail..

Thought he was dead at first as he was really still for ages and his leg was at a funny angle as though he wasn't standing on it at all, so I poked his bum....

He was lucky you weren't a feline wildlife slaughterer! The cats round our way seem to love killing moles. Which, to be honest, is okay by me

I was once walking along the clifftop from the lighthouse towards the Stacks of Duncansby near John o'Groats. I followed a mole walking along the footpath for about a hundred yards in broad daylight before he decided to leave the path. It was fascinating to watch one so close up, not seen anything like it before. Regards, Geoff.

He looks a bit stiff in the picture, that poke up the bum must have been a "Hole" new experience for him.......

He was very stiff and I though rigamortis must have set in. He must have been holding still hoping I would pas him by. Never seen a mole move so fast.
