I wonder if anyone has tried using miswak sticks as a bush toothbrush? These are that the Muslims use during Ramadan as they are considered halal. Apparently they have all kinds of anti-bacterial, anti-plague good for you properties.

So I have just ordered some from ebay to try out. Ill let you know how I get on :)

Hi Matt

I once used them solid for a week- you need to brush about 5 times a day and for longer than you would with a toothbrush. Theres a thread somewhere on herbal toothcare- chewing on cloves compliments the miswak properties and also covers breath odour. They clean teeth well, but against modern diets the antibacterial properties can't really cope.

A low sugar diet and lots of mint gum also helps...

looking forward to how you get on.
