Ombrotrophic moorland (peat bog to me) has approx 1 million insects per meter squared and approx 20 million midges per hectare, some bloke in Finland counted them and all I can guess is that he didn't fit much else into his life. Your mate is going to have to be way off the scale in the attractive department to distract all those :)
