i once read an interview where he said that when he started high school he wanted to play (american)football but his mum wouldn't let him, in case he got hurt!?!?!?!?!

He must have played in high school and/or colledge as he tried out for the Chicago Bears. You don't get to try out for the pros unless a scout sees you playing as an amateur and the team invites you.

the interview i read never said whether or not his mum got her way, just that she didn't want him to play, maybe he twisted her arm
