Meals that make themselves?!

Tried them years ago.
Heavy, bulky, generate a huge amount of trash to pack out, not very inspiring meals.
You are better off with a tinned meal and a small stove - at least you lose the weight of the fuel consumed and do not have as much trash to pack out!

maybe something to have in the boot if you expect to maybe be snowed in etc etc but pointless for out in the woods if you ask me

I go with John and Korvin, this is emergency food, i have eaten it, when its been issued and the only alternative to being hungry, i have also taken it walking, and there is so much to bring back with you, and it does'nt taste that good.

what about the wee self heating pouches on the same page? they suit any of the rat packs, look lighter and will have less packaging. expensive right enough.
