Hi all,
I am looking for a good way to make stoppers every 50 or 100cm on the mainline of my longline. These make it possible for the fish to swallow and have a little run before the hooks sets. So my plan is to take a nylon or braided line, make stoppers on it so I can clip on the lines with the hooks between the stoppers. The "leaders" can glide freely over the mainline in between the stoppers and are clipped on the mainline with a swivel with snap (if that's clear)

any ideas?
thanks!

You are better tying fixed eye's every 10 or so inches, then larks footing 60-80lb hooked mono (no more than 6' in length) to the eye's.
If you use circle hooks, they will set themselves.

Simple, cheap and tangle free.

Hi Lush, i suppose it depends on how big your snap swivels are, but i have used crimps https://www.tackleuk.co.uk/loktight-crimps-p-6423.html?gclid=CMmDl_bbjrUCFXHLtAodHlUANA on my fishing rigs. I have also used Power gum to make stop knots http://store.worldseafishing.com/tackleshop/Optima-Power-Gum.html and how to tie it http://www.gofishing.co.uk/Sea-Angl...ea-knots/Tying-the-stop-knot-using-power-gum/

I hope this helps.

Cheers Stuart.

Crimps sounds like a good way! Seems like a good way not to damage the line and yet have stoppers... Thanks Stuart :)
