Oh, Wayland, we sure was not looking at that...

The toggles are ingeneous, arent they? You or I would make them from wood or horn but this way is so much easier.

But we take skill bases for granted these days.

The other day I was given a book entitled The St Michaels Book of Handicrafts.

I already have a copy but it was a freebie, I might trade it on.

It has many good ideas and how to make them, mostly fabrics but this one has strawdollies, candles and jewelry.

I have a few books like this and many have basic leatherwork.

But people in the past didnt have `how to` texts and many skills were guild secrets
 
After being so impressed by Waylands work here's my attempt......there's things I'd change if I were to make a second pair but for a first attempt I'm pretty happy with the outcome
