I was having a go at making charcloth and wanted to make a few sulpher sticks as well
FIlled syrup tin with rolled up bits of cotton teatowel...
Into the fire, smole coming off through the hole in the lid...
dies away eventually, took the tin out...
as soon as it was out, I put mud over the top to seal air out while it all cooled...
While it cooled, I melted a bit of sulpher in a tin over a couple of bits of charcoal...
coated some wooden spills at the ends...
The cooled tin was opened, and its worked.....
Worked fine, the steel is from Silverhill Forge, and a bit of quartz from Comrie Croft...
The sulpher sticks/matches worked well, a very pale blue flame, thats difficult to see, lights from the glowing charcloth, but the wood catches...
