Ground protection under stove?

Not sure but for resistance to heat generally it is without binder so not very stiff or supportive. You could get a padded mat that could help prevent stove or other hard items sticking painfully into your back but IME you're likely to be carrying something to do that anyway without the added function.

I found a simple CCF offered a degree of support for a light kit. I got a free robens CCF when I bought something from a little camping shop near me. 130g it weighed but I got it down to torso size and about 75g for the fun of tweaking. Scored and taped the other side so it folded neatly into the size of my chosen frame less backpacking sack. That was enough of a "frame" for my load out.
