Hi

I have managed to get the valve off my 15kg butane bottle. Question is, how can I safely embark with cutting with my angle grinder. Have filled it with water overnight. Any advice would be appreciated. Dont want to luanch myself on a maiden flight up the garden path, if you see what I mean!

That's enough. The water displaces any gas and, when emptied, is replaced by air. The water will come out a bit oily - if it makes you feel better you can refil with water and empty a few more times. You could even fill to three quarters and tip onto it's side and then cut at the top.

Here's my 1st attempt, 13kg bottle
