Making a fire lighting bag out of a chamois leather?

I've seen a few guys on YouTube carrying their fire making kit in a leather draw string bag.

Could I use an old chamois to DIY one of these do you reckon? Or would it need to be a thicker piece to make it water proof?

can't hurt to have a go mate I wouldn't stick anything sharp in it though

I've often made them out of chamois, I think that it also helps to keep things dry in damp conditions as it absorbs moisture so well. As long as you don't get it soaking it works great ;-)

Great thanks. Maybe I'll use 2 chamois to double skin it ... more is better right
