Are there any makers of canvas/fabric goods around?

I've been playing around with some designs for projects that I have in mind, but I'm still relatively new to using canvas/fabric, so it would be great to see some examples of any work makers here have produced.

Please feel free to go into as much depth as you like about the making process. I'm looking to learn.

Thanks.

I really enjoy your project thread, loads of great ideas in there. I recall (though I can't seem to find it through searching) that you made a green rucksack which I thought looked excellent, and not dissimilar to something I am planning to make myself.

One thing I'm still trying to figure out is how best to approach seams with heavy (16/18oz) non-waxed canvas. In the past I've sandwiched the raw edges between edging/binding tape to avoid folded, bulky seams, but it's not always the look I'm after.
Would one single fold on the edge be enough to stop fraying, or would you need to fold it twice to completely hide the raw edge?

This was a pretty simple project. A small 90x90 canvas tarp. It's got six leather attachment straps and four brass d-rings at each corner.
It's gets mostly used for a sit-mat/work-mat, carrying wood and pitching up over wood piles in the rain. With a bit of cordage you can knock it up into a simple shoulder bag, apron or even a fairly decent sling.

This was a while before Covid - so not part of that thread :)
For neat seams I would recommend fully rolled or lapped seams - or bind them for lack of bulk as you mention. Otherwise you could overlock the edges (most modern machines have one or more suitable stitch options) or simply zigzag stitch the edges to prevent fraying. I have even seen folk just seal the edges with glue .... messy but effective! :)
I just looked at you "Canvas project" thread - your work is very neat and I see tou have a treadle machine - great for straight stitching but not a lot of stitch options! I think binding (your work there is excellent!) may be you best low bulk option :)

Oh, thats very posh.

I have several of those old canvas rucksacks with steel frames, mean to do one up with proper leatherware but am busy.

That's the one! Great looking bag.
Thanks for the input re seams. Good idea with the glue, I don't mind messy as long as it holds solid. That's the most important thing for me.
